My theoretical and research approaches often engage with critical theories and go beyond traditional theory to draw a critique of existing societal structures and how they impact human relations. I am driven by the need to draw an alternative reflection to the philosophy of technology in multicultural societies, with specific emphasis on how emerging technologies, while on one hand can be adapted to transform and overhaul dominant oppressive (political, economic and patriarchal) structures in the society; on the other hand, a realization that biases (gender, race, class, power) in the design, creation and access of technologies can serve to reinforce existing power structures and social exclusion of groups in the society.
